Australian Futsal Association is a team partecipating a next Montesilvano Futsal Cup. This is the interview at Jodie Hammond, International Tours Manager AFA.
What prompted you as a company to participate in the event?
AFA have been sending Australian teams to multiple countries for nearly 25 years as a pathway for our players to represent their country and compete internationally. We were given the opportunity to compete at the Montesilvano Futsal Cup and our teams a great experience to travel for a very well set up event.
From both a sporting and human aspect what a tournament like this can give to kids?
Competing against great clubs can increase not just our players awareness of futsal outside of Australia, but it also increases their skill level through competitive games. Of the court, the learn valuable life skills through travel and make life long friends both from Australia, but also overseas.
If we asked you to describe your club with just three adjectives, what would they be?
AFA send a selection of teams from each state, selected from our National Club Championships, to represent Australia. It is essential to our player pathway.
